What Sets Our Stainless Steel Fabrication Services Apart

While many sheet metal shops offer stainless steel fabrication services, not all shops have the right processes in place to provide the highest quality stainless steel parts.

Non-ferrous stainless steel has anti-rust and anti-corrosion properties that make it an ideal material for applications such as food service, pharmaceutical, and medical equipment. But when shops fail to take the proper precautions, cross-contamination with ferrous metals can compromise stainless steel’s desirable properties.

Our team knows that when it comes to stainless steel parts, high-precision fabrication is only part of the equation. You also need to be confident that your parts will remain rust and corrosion-resistant throughout the duration of their use.

How GMF Provides the Highest Quality Stainless Steel Parts

Here are a few measures we take at GMF to preserve the integrity of stainless steel parts.

Sourcing materials from suppliers with non-ferrous facilities

We have relationships with stainless steel material suppliers who maintain completely non-ferrous facilities. If cross-contamination is a concern for your application, we’ll source your material from one of these vendors.

Controlling our workstations

When working with stainless steel, our team members use non-ferrous barriers and cutting surfaces at their workstations to protect parts from cross-contamination.

Additionally, we use fresh tooling (including grinding wheels) for every job, a practice that sets us apart from other shops that provide stainless steel fabrication services. This approach not only prevents cross-contamination but also ensures more precise cuts and finishes.

Minimizing airborne contaminants

Even with the most stringent workstation protections in place, particles of ferrous metals, such as carbon dust, can still travel through the air and land on stainless steel materials. That’s why we take extra precautions to minimize airborne contaminants in material storage areas as well as during and after stainless steel fabrication.

All the stainless steel we source comes with a laser film that protects it from contaminants during storage. We’re also in the process of building a dedicated stainless steel workbench with extra airflow to prevent ferrous metal particles from settling in that area.

If we suspect a stainless steel part has been exposed to contaminants, we place the part in an acid bath to remove the contaminants.

Trust GMF with Your Stainless Steel Parts

For 30 years, the name Gloggner Metal Fabricators has been synonymous with excellence in custom sheet metal fabrication services. We’ve developed this reputation by prioritizing every customer, which means carefully shepherding their parts through each stage of fabrication and never taking shortcuts.
